Who we are and what we do.
- Anticipating Needs. Isotech has always tried to anticipate and accommodate customers needs in measurement. These needs are often identical to our own, since we are not only manufacturers of instruments, but also a full scale and accredited calibration laboratory at all levels. We use what we make; we design from our own needs.
- Next Generation Products. We have recognized that in recent years many needs for temperature calibration have changed dramatically. Our products have evolved to meet these new needs because the number of calibration laboratories has become much larger, as more stringent quality control has replaced the craftsman's eye, and requirements such as those of ISO 9000, the EN series of standards etc., demand objective validation and proof.
- New Users. With the increase in the number of laboratories, we see a shift in laboratory personnel, from a few skilled scientists to technicians and manufacturing engineers who may have no previous experience in temperature calibration and the arcane field of measurement uncertainty.
- ITS-90. In addition, we have seen the replacement of a familiar official Temperature Scale, the International Practical Temperature Scale of 1968, with a new Scale, the International Temperature Scale of 1990. While ITS-90 is in general much more convenient than IPTS-68, its differences are not trivial, and we must accommodate to it with new equipment and new reference points.
- SPRT to 962 °C. In particular, the ITS-90 extends the range of the standard platinum resistance thermometer up to 961 degrees C, does away with the standard thermocouple and divides the Scale into 7 practical ranges.
- Complete Solutions. Hitherto, Isotech has concentrated on temperature sensors and calibration equipment. During the 1980s we developed and produced a full range of equipment appropriate to the then art. Now we have developed comprehensive lines of apparatus which can provide the thermometry laboratory with everything it needs; sensors, calibration environments, readout and verification devices; individually or integrated into complete systems. We have taken pains with completeness; there are no plugs without sockets, no missing connecting cables, etc.
- UKAS Laboratory. Isotech is a UKAS Laboratory, this accreditation means that we are supervised and audited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, (once NAMAS) and are empowered by them to issue Certificates of Calibration which have scientific and legal validity (traceability) world-wide. Your Isotech system can be calibrated (or re calibrated) in our Laboratory from the tip of the sensor to the digits on the readout, with full traceable certification. We are unique in this service.
