PRT UtilityThis page should be used with Netscape 4.0, Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. It can convert resistance values to temperature for 100-ohm platinum resistance thermometers, at best it will agree with IEC-751 values to the order of 0.01C from -200 to 850C. The default coefficients are those specified in IEC-751 (1995). If you enter resistance / temperature data for a particular thermometer then probe specific coefficients can be calculated. The accuracy will vary for particular probes and the suitability of the user entered data. IEC 751 permits a tolerance at 650°C of 1.45°C for Class A and 3.6°C for Class B, with suitable input data and a reproducible probe the utility could be expected to provide agreement to the order of 0.1°C or better for small temperature ranges. After entering data you can store the information for subsequent visits to the page. For higher accuracy and for use with ITS-90 Equations we would recommend our "Deadalus" software.
